Joop van der Pol

Planning in the broadest sense of the word is what I do. You will find an impression of my work on my website.

After working in various positions for other businesses, I decided to establish a firm specializing in planning and designing anything that can be found in the environment. My education and expertise, acquired both at work and in society in general, have taught me to provide independent creativity.

Since 1989,  my firm  JoopVANDERPOL omgevingsvormgever ( Joop VANDERPOL environmental designer) has been based in Rolde, the Netherlands. It is a small and flexible firm. Its strength is its short lines of communication. My  aim is to provide every client with custom-made solutions.

At the start of my firm, I closely worked together with colleagues in civil engineering, urban planners, landscapers, developers and engineering businesses. We gained a great deal of experience and expertise. We also performed many assignments for municipal bodies, including the redevelopment of residential areas, city centres and industrial zones. Consequently, my ‘signature’ as a designer can be found in many places in the northern part of the Netherlands.

Since the beginning of 2000, developments in the leisure sector have boomed. All over the country, our firm has designed and constructed recreation parks which are comparable with residential areas comprising hundreds of houses. I also designed and realized many environmental plans for housing and care projects. My assignments have become increasingly large and  complex. In the field of digitisation, I have also made great progress, both regarding technology and as far as presentations are concerned. Keeping up-to-date and developing in tandem with technological changes remains a great challenge.
